If you’ve never been to Swinley Forest near Bracknell, it’s definitely worth checking out. There are miles of tracks to suit everyone – from gentle leisure rides to fast, technical trails. There’s even a new jump area currently under construction for more accomplished MTB cyclists.
Three main routes wind through the forest – with increasing levels of difficulty – Green (easy), Blue (moderate) and Red (challenging). Blue and Red offer plenty of opportunity to push yourself. This all-weather, purpose-built environment is simply a great place to improve your abilities on cornering, berms, drops and jumps.
Parking is plentiful and cheap at only £2 for four hours. There are plenty of great spots to rest and have a picnic, so you can make a day of it. And if you can’t transport your bike, you can hire bikes too from Swinley Bike Hub, where coaching is also available to help develop your skills, confidence and fitness.
It’s easy to get to via the M25 and M3 – just head for the Look Out Discovery Centre, Nine Mile Ride – postcode RG12 7QW. So, what are you waiting for?
