The Shuttle AM Pro X0 Eagle Transmission exhibits all-mountain capability, combined with incredible climbing performance. Light for an E-MTB, it offers the travel required to conquer different terrains, along with the agility needed to hug the trail at speed.
This versatile bike is powered by a Bosch drive unit that, along with its companion long-lasting battery, is cleanly integrated into Pivot Cycles’ slimmed down Hollow Core Carbon frame, with its stable, long and low geometry, helping to keep the bike’s centre of gravity low.
Together, the drive unit and battery will power you on epic trails you have only imagined riding. Should you find that you would welcome more confidence, or greater nimbleness, to handle the country you’re planning to ride, you can alter the geometry slightly using the handy flip-chip to better suit your needs.
If you want to tailor your experience further, you can programme the Bosch motor to adopt one of four different modes, each offering a different level of support to match the ground you’re riding on, with the help of a convenient app.
Whichever mode you choose, since the Shuttle AM is a Class 1 E-MTB, the motor will only kick in when you’re pedalling and will stop once you top 20mph, for example while you’re coasting downhill, giving your ride a natural feel.
The suspension also reinforces this analogue effect, as Pivot Cycles’ trademark dw-link™ keeps pedal bob to a minimum, even with the added weight of motor and battery, and helps to harness the full power of every pedal stroke. In the unlikely event that you lose charge, you’ll still be able to pedal home without difficulty.
More commonly, though, you’ll appreciate the high-quality Fox Factory suspension, with its ample 148mm of rear and 160mm of front travel, as you take on your favourite trail, attempt a new jump or weave deftly down a boulder-strewn slope in record time.
Your confidence and all-mountain ability will further be boosted by reliable, 29” aluminium wheels with chunky Maxxis Minion tyres, reinforced by Super Boost Plus 157 rear hub spacing for added stiffness, alongside the presence of fast-acting, powerful Shimano XT M8120 brakes and a reassuringly long travel Fox Factory seatpost.
The bulk of the drivetrain components, meanwhile – the robust direct mount rear derailleur, light, solidly shifting, close ratio cassette and tough flattop chain, coordinated by the intuitive AXS Pod Controller shifter – are SRAM X0 Eagle Transmission. SRAM designed this groupset with strength in mind; it’s simple to set up and reliable under load, offering smooth, consistent, quiet shifting performance and the durability need to stand up to punishment on the trails.
